Booster Clothing's mission is to become the clothing search tycoon on the internet by creating lots of niche e-commerce websites and creating search software to find niche clothing products. This website offers a list of our published web projects and a list of our future web projects. Our company is rapidly growing as we recently developed the ability to launch more websites than we can produce content. Is this a problem? Yes, especially because our company is currently a two-man show, but we feel it is a good problem to have. We are currently working on the solution.
The decision to launch a certain type of niche clothing website comes from our keyword research, the competition outlook for niche markets, the affiliate partnerships that we obtain, and the availability of products that we could make searchable. Our websites have a simple design with the intent of standardizing navigation. We feel that if all the e-commerce clothing websites looked the same, the whole shopping experience would appear more pleasant.
Lastly, our company has the ability to design and create custom clothing products. While most of our orders come from on-line customers, we receive many orders by word of mouth. Shoot us an e-mail or fill out the contact us form if you're interested in having us make you a clothing customization. We have shipped, and will continue to ship, to any customer, anywhere in the world. Our privately funded company is located in Manhattan Beach, California.
Many people move to Southern California to pursue their dream of becoming Hollywood actors and models. Since we were not handsome enough to become either, we were forced to take jobs as engineers to pursue our dreams of changing the world through science and innovation. After several years of working for the top aerospace and oil companies, we realized that working for a large corporation wasn't really our thing. We were miserable with our full-time engineering jobs and we needed to find a way out.
We became inspired to start a clothing company after learning about a Washington entrepreneur who was really successful at selling t-shirts on-line. And so we thought, "If he can do it, we can too. We're two smart engineers so let's give it a try and see what happens." So we bought some books and we are currently changing our career path and becoming professional web developers. We created everything you see on all the Booster sites as a result of our newly acquired web programming skills. We quit our corporate engineering jobs to go into the internet game and we are very excited to see what will result from our creations. We quit our corporate engineering jobs to invent our own jobs.
The Booster Clothing Bosses
Jon Navarro
Booster Clothing Co-Founder and Design Guru
Jon the Aerospace Engineer
Jon graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. During college, he traveled to Houston, Texas, to perform an experiment with a Zero-G team at NASA's Johnson Space Center. In June 2005, Jon left Champaign for Madrid, Spain, to study abroad. After Madrid, Jon moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to begin his first job as a jet propulsion engineer for Delta Air Lines. During his time at Delta, Jon was able to travel the world for free and get a feel for Southern culture. In March 2006, Jon moved to Los Angeles, California, and found a job at The Boeing Company as a design engineer. Jon contributed to the design of various commercial aircaft at Boeing but he wanted to see what it was like to design fighter jets. In September 2008, Jon joined Northrop Grumman in El Segundo, California, to work on fighter jets. Jon worked his last day in the corporate world (hopefully!) on Septemeber 29, 2011, and left to become a full-time entrepreneur.
Jon the Entrepreneur
Realizing that being an engineer in the corporate world wasn't as glamorous as he used to think it was, Jon decided to start his own business with his college friend, Tim Fellin. Their business, Booster Clothing LLC, consisted of designing, manufacturing, and selling t-shirts to local friends and family. Knowing that they needed the internet to expand their business, Jon began to learn XHTML, graphic design, PHP code, and a little bit of MySQL in order to create dynamic websites. AviatorTees.com was their first amateur website. Currently, Jon is learning search engine optimization, HTML5, and CSS3. His design-oriented approach aims to work towards an optimal user experience. Jon is creative, innovative, and is full of business ideas. If you’re interested in seeing what projects Tim and Jon are working on, check out BoosterClothing.com. Or you can e-mail Jon directly at jon@boosterclothing.com.
Jon the Corporate Retiree
Jon enjoys the majority of his time perfecting his web development skills and thinking of new projects that can be produced fairly quickly. In his free time, Jon enjoys traveling, looking at airplanes, being on boats, biking along the beach, wine and beer tasting, snowboarding, making funny t-shirts, eating Shabu Shabu with friends, and making his wife's cat go bonkers with his remote control helicopter.
Tim Fellin
Booster Clothing Co-Founder and Optimization Guru
Tim the Mechnical Engineer
Tim graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2005. During his time at UIUC, he completed internships with Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart, Germany, and with Caterpillar in Decatur, Illinois.
Upon graduating, Tim moved to Bellingham, Washington, and started his first full-time job at a ConocoPhillips oil refinery. During the next couple years, he earned his MBA at Western Washington University at night while climbing the corporate ladder during the day. At the end of 2008, Tim moved to Los Angeles to take a different job at a Chevron oil refinery. Tim worked his last day in the corporate world (hopefully!) and left to become a full-time entrepreneur on April 1, 2011.
Tim the Entrepreneur
Realizing that engineering was not his true passion, Tim decided he wanted to start his own business. Teaming up with his college friend, Jon Navarro, they started their first business in 2009. Their business, Booster Clothing LLC, consisted of designing, manufacturing, and selling t-shirts to local friends and family. Knowing that they needed the internet to expand their business, Tim began learning how to write PHP code and build databases using MySQL in order to complement Jon’s existing website design knowledge. They launched their first websites, AviatorTees.com and EngineerClothing.com. Currently, Tim is learning how to optimize their websites for search engines. His high-energy approach sets the company’s fast-paced direction as he is continually developing innovative strategies and brainstorming new ideas. If you’re interested in seeing what projects Tim and Jon are working on, check out BoosterClothing.com. Or you can e-mail Tim directly at tim@boosterclothing.com.
Tim the Corporate Retiree
Old coworkers often ask Tim what he does with his time now that he doesn’t have to report to the corporate world. Tim spends the majority of his time working on Booster Clothing. However, the first thing he did after quitting the corporate world was teach his dog, Rico, to get him a beer from the refrigerator. He likes to travel, hike, and snowboard. In the first few months after quitting, Tim got married and is currently expecting his first child due March 2012. Currently, Tim lives and works in Manhattan Beach, California.
